CONA 2019 Delegates

Parker Boggs

Parker is from Broadwater Academy on the BEAUTIFUL Eastern Shore. As seen and heard from the advisors, his name is also Poopsy (you can ask him about it). This will be his second year on the mountain and he's pleased to serve as Virginia’s CLC! Although politics is his passion, he is also an avid swimmer on several competitive teams, a tenor in Vocal Ensemble, a performer in Drama, and a golfer! He has been looking forward to meeting the new peeps, and he's so happy to see his fellow alum from last year!

Sydney Brown

Sydney attended Faith Christian School in Roanoke, VA. This past year was her second time attending MGA, and she loved every minute of it! She was given the opportunity to serve as a committee chair, and she says that it was so much fun! She plans to attend Liberty University in the fall of 2019 to study Music Education and Worship Leadership. As much as she loves debating and politics, her other passion is music. She is the leader and organizer of her youth group's praise team, and she also participates in the Roanoke Valley Concert Choir. She sings and plays guitar, piano, and ukulele.

Joseph Clark

Joseph goes to an all male military school, Benedictine College Preparatory, in Goochland VA. This was his first year at MGA and will be his first year at CONA. He really enjoys politics and he plays two varsity sports for his school, swim team and rugby. He is an Eagle Scout and he works in construction during spring break and summer break.

Tommy Dannenfelser

Tommy is excited to be the Delegation Leader this year. This will be his third year at CONA (previously a reporter then delegate) and he cannot wait to get back there. Tommy served as Youth Governor of MGA 2019, and says that it was hands-down his best experience of all high school. Outside of MGA and CONA, he works on Student Council, hits the bike trails, and hikes. He's always up for a conversation about religion, foreign languages, or horror movies. He'll be going to UVA in the fall (wahoowa) where he'll major in Politics, Philosophy, and Law (PPL) and minor in Spanish.

Kyle Fisher

Kyle Fisher is a concurrent student at Spotswood High School and Massanutten Regional Governor's School, and he has a deep passion for law and the sciences. Outside of politics, he enjoys debate, scholastic bowl, soccer, skipping rocks (yes really), and leading his Youth and Government club. This will be his first year at CONA.

Kiernan Green

This was Kiernan's first year at MGA. He is a senior from Faith Christian School and in college he's planning on studying the classy major of Undecided. He spends the majority of my time writing. He's been working on a particular story for four years now, it's sorta like a modern Game of Thrones combined with X-Men. He's big into Alternative/Alt Rock sounds (Glass Animals, Blink-182, Red Hot Chili Peppers) but "down to groove to most things." His favorite novel is Hop on Pop.

Mckenzie Green

Mckenzie Green was a sophomore at Faith Christian School. This will be her second time going to CONA and she couldn't be more excited! Outside of MGA she enjoys playing soccer, hanging out with friends, and she's always down to dance and jam out to music. This MGA she was a bill patron in the House, and actually had the opportunity to patron two bills! She loves being involved in other clubs at her school as well. One of her favorites, behind Hi-Y obviously, is her school's service club. She has two brothers and two sisters, and "one super cute dog."

Paine Gronemeyer

Paine is from the county of Arlington, with the nice pleasure of living 2 subway stops from Washington DC. He is currently a junior at H-B Woodlawn Secondary Program, and loves to participate in ultimate frisbee, their school sport, as well as Track and Field, Cross Country, and Air Rifle for Wakefield High School. He also enjoys doing Racewalking (speed walking, hip-moving) at a national level. Though it has been on a Malcom and the Middle episode, it isn’t too well known in the United States. Outside of sports he enjoys playing video games (CS:GO) and also loves to walk around DC and be a friendly tour guide to anyone he knows coming through the area. "We love tourists!" He looks forward to getting to know everyone at CONA, from the BEAUTIFUL Eastern Shore to the tips of Bluefield on the VA/WV border.

Olivia Klein

Olivia Klein is from Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. She was a junior at Yorktown High School in Arlington. This was her third year at MGA, yet her first as a lobbyist. This will also be her first year at CONA! She served as her school's first junior Student Body President, and loves to be involved in anything Student Government. She also plays lacrosse, both for her school and club, and she hopes to find a college to play for soon! Outside of school, Student Government, and lacrosse, you can find her looking for the best, aesthetically-pleasing coffee/bubble tea spots in the D.C. area with friends.

David McCurdy

David McCurdy has been very excited for CONA this year. Outside of politics his interests include running, cycling, climbing (just get him outside and out of cell service) and volunteer service work. He's excited to get to know each of the other delegates better through this process. If you disagree with David on matters of politics, religion or anything else, he encourages you to talk to him about it.

Cameron Mears

Cameron Mears is from the Eastern Shore of Virginia. This year was his first year at MGA and he's honored to be a part of this year's CONA as well. He tends to be a pretty busy guy, he's a three sport athlete, Sophomore Class President, camp counselor, and is interested in just about anything he can get his hands on and have fun with. He is looking forward to creating bonds with all of the delegates and making great memories.

Candice Mulinda

Candice served as the Speaker of the House this past year at MGA. She was a senior at Faith Christian School, and plans on attending Yale, where she'll probably be majoring in International Relations (but things can change). This will be her 3rd year at CONA, and she is more excited than ever to hang out with all her old friends and make plenty of new ones. She already knows that this is gonna be a highlight of the summer, and she's stoked.

J. Trent Pettus

This will be Trent's first year attending CONA and he looks forward to it every minute. This past year was his last year at MGA and he celebrated it by being the Old Dominion Floor Leader. He was a senior at Randolph Henry High School in Charlotte County. He also attended the Governor's School of Southside Virginia where he graduated with a General Studies degree. He has committed to the University of Virginia to attend in the Fall of 2019. He plans to major in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science, and an unrelated minor in Music Production/Technologies. His main interests include building computers, playing and mixing music, video games, and learning more about genetics and computers. He plans to become a geneticist and research the development/progression of genetic diseases and disorders.

Caroline Rose

This will be Caroline's first time at CONA. She was a senior at Faith Christian, and she plans on attending The King's College in the fall. This past MGA she got to serve on Tommy's staff, and she can't wait to have more excellent debate on an even wider range of topics. More than that, though, she's really excited to get to know her fellow delegates and enjoy the full CONA experience she's heard so much about. "I cannot wait to work with you all, so in the immortal words of CA$H OUT, Let's Get It."

Olivia Shreeman

Olivia Shreeman was a junior at Faith Christian School this year. This will be her second year at CONA, and she honestly can't wait to be up on the mountain again. Her hobbies are singing, playing various instruments, volunteering, and being outdoors. She's beyond excited to be serving as your MGA 2020 Lieutenant Governor, and she can't wait to get to know her fellow delegates better!

Howie Spencer

Spencer is from the mountains of SWVA and this will be his 3rd year of CONA. This year at MGA he served as the Commonwealth House Floor Leader. He is really passionate about economic development and job growth within the smaller, less developed places in the country. This fall, he plans to attend Bluefield State College next year to play baseball and major in Civil Engineering and minor in Public Administration.

Irene Thornton

This will be Irene's first year at CONA. This past spring, at MGA, she feels that she was fortunate enough to preside over the Old Dominion senate. In the fall she will be attending Christopher Newport University as a member of the President's Leadership Program. She plans on majoring in political science with a double minor in Spanish and leadership. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, playing in lacrosse, and eating snacks!
